It’s Always Sunny in Atlanta: PRSA 2015 International Conference Recap

While the weather at the PRSA 2015 International Conference was dismal for the usually sunny Southeast, the event was anything but— troves of energetic, intelligent PR professionals descended on Atlanta from every corner of the world to network and learn. The conference was held at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis, where FleishmanHillard sponsored a Recharge Lounge that allowed attendees to charge their devices, catch up on emails and chat with other PR professionals.

On Monday morning, Marjorie Benzkofer, global reputation practice lead, presented “Is Reputation the New Brand?” to a full house of 100+ session conference attendees. The presentation, which featured Authenticity Gap research and planning methodology, received rave reviews as evidenced by the line of people waiting to chat further with Marjorie after her session adjourned.Marjorie

Later that evening, FleishmanHillard’s Atlanta office hosted a social media panel titled “Know Your Craft: How Your Brand’s Reputation and Social Media Intersect” at what will soon be our new office space. Panelists included Paul Dusseault from Atlanta and Stephen Hunton and Ryan Smith from Dallas with Atlanta General Manager Jerry Tolk moderating.

Panel conversation centered around how people are consuming social media over an exponentially expanding array of devices, wearables and platforms— one can live in the most remote corner of the world, and yet their experience can be amplified tens of millions of times through social media channels. The panel’s takeaway echoed Marjorie’s presentation: brand and reputation are inextricably entwined, and we need new structures that not only acknowledge this new reality but illuminate the road ahead.KYC3

The PRSA 2015 International Conference showcased industry-wide innovative trends and allowed FleishmanHillard to put its best foot forward, showing clients and future partners how to forge meaningful relationships with customers and consumers. If this conference is any indication of what’s in store for 2016, the forecast is looking bright indeed!
